Made my Wedding Day
Made my wedding day with immensely helpful staff that really helped to take the pressure off. Food is second to none. Beautiful pub and wedding venue at a reasonable price for a wedding. Would recommend a million times over. M Greenwood
Amazing Wedding Venue
Amazing wedding venue and came back for our first wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time staying in the honeymoon suite. The food is incredible, and the staff are very friendly. R Farrow
We got married here in March 2017
We got married here in March 2017 and everything was perfect. The staff knew exactly what they had to do and they made the day run very smoothly. The food was also incredible. We returned for the evening to celebrate our first anniversary and enjoyed staying in the bridal suite again and a delicious meal in the restaurant. It was one of the best meals I have had in England. We will definitely be returning. L Shardelow
Beautiful venue for our Wedding Celebration Dinner
We got married in Mauritius, but wanted a celebration dinner with our family and friends. The venue was stunning, the food fabulous and the staff very courteous. We chose our food selection beforehand along with the wine and everything was absolutely perfect! Julie H
Sunday Roast
Yet again another great visit to the white hart. Went in for Sunday roast never disappointed food and service excellent as always. Great experience never let down. Staff are always happy and helpful. Food was promptly delivered to table and we left feeling well catered for. Ed C
First Class Staff, Beautiful Venue and Incredible Food!
I attended the White Hart earlier this week for a family meal after being recommended the venue by a friend – and i was definitely not disappointed.On arrival we were offered drinks and a comfy seat in front of the warm fire – just what we needed with this terrible English weather! The Manager Tony (I think??) brought us over our drinks and menus to have a peep at. At no point were we rushed to go in to the restaurant which is rare in this day and age – normally staff just want you in and out!
Next is the food – AMAZING. I had the whitebait which was delicious. Others had the Brie, White Hart Salad and the Pigeon for starters. Again no complaints. We all had Steak for mains – all cooked as we asked and a member of staff – Lewis, recommended us a beautiful Malbec to accompany it. We ordered Cheeseboards for afters with a tipple of Port – a perfect way to round off the evening.
Thank you to all the staff who made our meal so relaxed and enjoyable. We will definitely be back within the next couple of weeks with friends!

Lovely place!
My local watering hole. Always a great bunch of people here, staff and customers. Very friendly. Food and drink is brilliant. Especially a Sunday roast. Always recommend this place to friends and family for either drinks or food ! The accommodation is always brill. Rooms immaculate and well looked after. Jack R
Excellent Wedding Venue
We had a look a various venues in the area, but most of them felt very stiff and formal, which is not what we wanted for our wedding. As with any organisation, we had a few minor niggles along the way, but Laura and Tony were absolutely superb in the last few weeks prior to the wedding. On the day, they were super efficient, providing our special diet guests exactly what they had requested, without any uncertainties. What I really appreciated was that when there was one minor issue, the management was on it immediately, without having to be told, and there was no waiting around for things to be sorted. It is a lovely venue that we could decorate as we wished, obviously providing that we weren’t knocking nails into walls, etc., and all the staff on the day were professional and efficient. The food was fantastic and the service was well thought out. I would definitely recommend the Essex Barn at the White Hart for a wedding venue to anyone who wants a relaxed wedding. Takeley
