The White Hart welcomes you to our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September between 10.00 am and 1.00pm. Macmillan started their National coffee morning event in 1990 as a way to raise money for Macmillan. Since then it has raised £165.5 million for the charity.
Why not get involved and enjoy conversation, a coffee or tea and a slice of delicious cake at The White Hart and know you are helping this important charity at the same time.

Since Valentines Day is fast approaching here a re a few facts you might not know about Valentines Day
- About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year. This makes it the second largest seasonal card sending time of the year
- In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to see. This was the origin of the expression “to wear your heart on your sleeve.”
- The red rose was the favorite flower of Venus, the Roman goddess of love.
